Springfield, IL – 11/29/2024 – Del’s Popcorn Shop (“Del’s” or “Company”) is thrilled to market another victory for a fantastic local organization. We successfully raised over $450 for Hannah’s Happy Day Foundation which will be used as an effort to spread the joy and kindness Hannah gave to people every day. They provide a scholarship for an ASL Interpreting student at Williams Woods University, a fund for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in the EIASE co-op, and Kindness Mini Grants in Jacksonville area class.
“Hannah’s Happy Day Foundation is a great example of a worthy cause. They met all the criteria for us as a long-term community partner.” Explained Ellie Gross, the Del’s national sales manager. “It was an honor to work with Hannah’s mom, Kathy, on this fundraiser in her daughter’s honor. Hearing about Hannah’s story was very touching, I am honored Del’s could help be a part in the scholarship they sponsor.”
Hannah’s Happy Day Foundation. According to their website, “Hannah loved and was dedicated to her job as an ASL Interpreter in the Eastern Illinois Area Special Education (EIASE) Coop in Mattoon, IL. She had a special connection with the students and they loved her. Besides being committed to clearly conveying English messages to them in ASL, she loved and cared deeply about each one of them. In Hannah's memory, the #kindnessforhannah fund provides the Deaf and Hard of hearing students at EIASE with different special needs they have. Some examples include gym uniforms for middle school students that can be pricey for families, a headband for a young child with a new cochlear implant, or a bicycle so a high school student can get to work, and so very much more. We will never truly know the full impact of #kindnessforhannah.” You can learn more about this foundation on their website: www.hannahshappydayfoundation.org!
Del’s Popcorn Shop. Del’s is a gourmet retail popcorn and confectionary based in Springfield, IL. Del’s was stitched into the fabric of Central Illinois at a time after the Great Depression and before World War II. The ingredients and approach to creation is reminiscent of a bygone era. At a time when bootstrapping the American Dream was very much in bloom, an entrepreneur by the name of John Baldwin began to sell popcorn and candy from his print shop. Del’s have been serving the Central Illinois community ever since. Del’s has an extensive menu of cooked-from-scratch popcorn and confectionery products including seasoned popcorn, cheddar cheese popcorn, caramel corn, fudge, peanut brittle, and caramel apples. The Company has a devoted customer base of all ages which span generations. In recent years, Del’s has expanded to offer its favorite products nationwide at www.delspopcornshop.com. Del’s has also become a go-to option for non-profits, schools, and other community organizations to raise money through the Del’s Virtual Popcorn Fundraising platform.
