Springfield, IL – 11/11/2024 – Del’s Popcorn Shop (“Del’s” or “Company”) is thrilled to market another victory for a fantastic local organization. We successfully raised over $220 for the John Hill Band and Orchestra which will be used for: in addition to larger instruments that get shared, like Drum Sets, String Basses and Tubas, nearly 40 smaller school instruments get used by students each year. Regular wear and tear makes upkeep of these instruments very necessary, but also very expensive. In addition to repairing instruments, new music is also purchased as well as smaller items like extra reeds, strings, rosins and books. There are many instruments at the school which could be used, but need repair, much of which is beyond the current budget.
“The John Hill Band Orchestra is a great example of a worthy cause. They met all the criteria for us as a long-term community partner.” Explained Ellie Gross, the Del’s national sales manager. “We love these music programs, and we love these kids. We are so happy we can play a part in their story.”
John Hill Band and Orchestra. The John Hill Band and Orchestra program services over 100 students, from Fourth grade through Eighth. There are 3 Middle School ensembles, a rock band, in addition to 3 elementary groups.
Del’s Popcorn Shop. Del’s is a gourmet retail popcorn and confectionary based in Springfield, IL. Del’s was stitched into the fabric of Central Illinois at a time after the Great Depression and before World War II. The ingredients and approach to creation is reminiscent of a bygone era. At a time when bootstrapping the American Dream was very much in bloom, an entrepreneur by the name of John Baldwin began to sell popcorn and candy from his print shop. Del’s have been serving the Central Illinois community ever since. Del’s has an extensive menu of cooked-from-scratch popcorn and confectionery products including seasoned popcorn, cheddar cheese popcorn, caramel corn, fudge, peanut brittle, and caramel apples. The Company has a devoted customer base of all ages which span generations. In recent years, Del’s has expanded to offer its favorite products nationwide at www.delspopcornshop.com. Del’s has also become a go-to option for non-profits, schools, and other community organizations to raise money through the Del’s Virtual Popcorn Fundraising platform.
