A Win for All: MacArthur’s Life Skills Fundraiser Shines

Mt. Zion, IL – 2/17/2025 – Del’s Popcorn Shop is proud to celebrate another successful fundraiser with an inspiring local organization. Together, we raised over $520 for MacArthur High School Life Skills Program.

“The MacArthur Life Skills Program is a great example of a worthy cause. They met all the criteria for us as a long-term community partner,” shared Ellie Gross, Del’s National Sales Manager. “We love these teams, and we love these kids. We are so happy we can play a part in their story.”

MacArthur High School Life Skills Program

The MacArthur Life Skills Program is a Special Education initiative dedicated to students with a wide range of disabilities. These students, ranging from 9th grade through Super Seniors (who may remain in the program until the age of 22), receive support tailored to their individual needs. The program focuses on helping students develop practical life skills that will empower them to live as independently and confidently as possible after graduation.

Del’s Popcorn Shop

Del’s is a gourmet retail popcorn and confectionery based in Springfield, IL. Del’s became part of the Central Illinois community during a pivotal moment in history — after the Great Depression and before World War II. It all began when John Baldwin, an ambitious entrepreneur, started selling popcorn and candy from his print shop.

Since then, Del’s has become a cherished part of many families' traditions. Our menu includes handmade treats like cheddar cheese popcorn, caramel corn, fudge, peanut brittle, and seasonal caramel apples—all crafted using time-honored recipes.
